About Metica
At Metica, we let game studios focus on making great games while we take care of growing them. We are an AI-native growth partner for mobile game studios, helping them make smarter decisions across in-game monetisation, personalisation and user acquisition.
Our technology works alongside a studio’s existing game and ad-tech infrastructure. It turns player-level data into better decisions about how games monetise, without compromising the player experience.
The Role
This is a research-first role for someone early in their career who is curious about mobile games, data and how games make money.
You will analyse mobile games to understand how different studios load, place and show ads. You will turn what you see in the game into detailed and useful research for our product team.
This is not a conventional revenue or monetisationt role. The work is focused on finding patterns, documenting evidence and helping the team understand how monetisation strategies work in the real world.
You do not need to be an engineer, butou do need to be comfortable around data, working in the mac terminal and utilising AI assistants. You should enjoy figuring things out without needing every step mapped out for you.
You Will
Play and analyse a wide range of mobile games.
Document how games load, place and show ads, including the player journey, ad formats, timing and monetisation patterns.
Review logs and other research data to identify useful observations and inconsistencies.
Turn raw gameplay and log data into structured research notes that product and engineering teams can act on.
Work closely with product to translate findings into clear insights, hypotheses and product ideas.
Use AI tools, data analysis and light scripting to work faster, organise research and investigate questions properly.
Build and maintain a high-quality library of game and monetisation research.
You Need
You are a recent graduate, or at the beginning of your career, with a degree or practical background in a technical or analytical field. This could include computer science, data analytics, engineering, mathematics, economics, game development or a similar subject.
You have used tools such as Claude Code or Codex in real coursework, personal projects or internships. You can show how you used them to analyse data, build something small or solve a technical problem.
You are comfortable with basic data analysis and light coding. You do not need to be a full-time developer, but you should be able to work with structured data and be willing to learn quickly.
You are detail-oriented. You notice what happened, record it accurately and do not jump to conclusions without evidence.
You are self-driven and can work independently in a remote environment. You do not wait to be told the next obvious step.
You write and speak clear English.
You are genuinely interested in mobile games. An understanding of free-to-play games, in-app purchases or in-game advertising is helpful, but not required.
What Success Looks Like ?
In your first few months, you will become a trusted source of clear, accurate research on how mobile games monetise. Your work will help Metica’s product team spot patterns, validate ideas and make better decisions.
For someone who consistently shows strong judgement, curiosity and ownership, there is room to grow into broader product, research, revenue operations or technical responsibilities over time. Scope and compensation will grow with your contribution.
